.one too many.

…a place for waste…

Joppa is a place. Part three.

it feels like a forgotten place.

it’s there on the grid,

right off of the 45,

just 7 miles south of downtown Dallas,

but somehow,

it’s hidden at the same time.

until recently,

there was no bridge crossing over the rail tracks.

when a train came through,

the only road into town would be blocked.

stories abound,

of sick people in ambulances,

dying as the train slowly rolled by…

or houses aflame as fire trucks waited on the other side of the tracks

maybe the forgotten thing is all in my head.

i’m not from there.

and i’m sure my intuition isn’t sufficient proof.

i’m sure it’s much more complicated than I’ve made it sound.

but then again,

when is it not?

sad but true
